![]() ![]() They had hot scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, one day french toast and the next pancakes, with bagels, dry cerial, fruit choice, and yogurt. I ate at the hotel resturant for two breakfasts, eating the buffet using my government rate per diem. Late on my first night there, I called and asked for an extra blanket, and they brought one up within 15 minutes. Two sets of pillows were supplied with the room, and I chose to use the soft. The air conditional worked great, and I slept very well on a very comfortable bed. My room was a single king bed and a non smoking. The Holiday Inn National is close to the airport, and offers free shuttle. Also, McDonalds is right next door.I got to attend a one day meeting in WA DC, and needed a place close to the airport for a couple nights. There is a CVS just down the street if you need something. It seems clean and convenient to she Metro if you're willing to take the hotel shuttle or the city bus. It was well maintained although the pool was closed so I didn't get to see that. ![]() I could tell it was a bit older but had been refurbished with new furnishings, televisions, etc. The hotel was nicer than I thought it would be. It is a bit far to walk to the Crystal City Metro Stop but it can be done if you're in reasonable shape. You could also take the hotel shuttle to the airport and catch the Metro Subway there as well. If you're going to ride the Metro subway I recommend either taking the hotel shuttle which circulates through Crystal City or taking the City Bus which stops just across the road under the bridge to the North. I asked him about Metro bus stops close to the hotel and he told me where the closest one was. I didn't have to call because I believe the bus just makes rounds.The driver was very friendly. I waited about 15-20 minutes which is not too bad. My first experience was with the Hotel Shuttle from the airport. ![]() I haven't stayed in a Holiday Inn so I was a little leery but it was the only hotel with availability that was offering the Federal Government rate. Crystal City overall is nice and seems to be safe. Lived in Crystal City for several months so I'm familiar with the area. ![]()
